Village Motel

Although this motel looks a little beat up from the outside, our room was PERFECTLY FINE and comfortable. I am not comparing it to a fancier hotel chain when I give it 4 stars, but the room and bathroom were clean and large, and it had a mini refrigerator. The woman at the desk was patient and helpful, plus it is an easy stroll into town. I suspect it has had a makeover since previous bad reviews. If you are just looking for a comfortable, convenient place to rest, you can opt to spend $100 as opposed to $500!

My sister and I stayed one night recently at the Village Motel after our reserved lodging elsewhere proved to be less than desirable. The Village Motel was clean (pristine), the beds were very comfortable, and the owner went out of his way to take care of our needs. He also was helpful when my sister returned the next morning to retrieve her cell phone plug that she had forgotten. She found the room already cleaned with freshly washed floors and the door open to air it out ( as were a number of other rooms ). Obviously this is an owner who believes in customer service excellence. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we should be in the area.

Looks may be deceiving! If you can get past the exterior of this motel, and remember its a capital M - motel, this is a nice place to stay. The rooms are sparse but clean, comfortable, and great for a place to sleep one or two nights. The ACs took a little time to cool the room down but once they did, the rooms stayed cool and comfortable for the time we spent. There were mini fridges im the rooms and the bathrooms were tidy. Bring your own toiletries since there isn't much in the bathroom.

Shockingly better than I expected. The room was clean and Cold when we first entered but after a while the heat was Sunning. More pleasant than I expected. Don’t leave after you check in. It looks suspect but for one night it was ok.

Stayed for one night, checking in at the apparently very late hour of 8pm. The exterior of the place was worrisome... Unmaintained, untidy. Looking more closely didn't help, it is evident that a lot of the rooms are occupied by extended stays, so much so that their rooms are decorated. First impression of the room was not impressive. The deadbolt just spun, up on further inspection the door simply locked automatically and had a chain. Not my preference, to be sure. But the room itself was actually pretty nice compared to the exterior. Looked like it had been renovated in the last few years, most of the finishes are in good shape and surprisingly clean (again, compared to the exterior). The bed was firm and comfortable, the pillows were great, the water pressure and temperature were lovely. I slept soundly and enjoyed my shower, which is all a motel like this is really needed for anyhow. If I were planning to spend some days in Ellenville, this is not where I'd want to hang my hat, but if you're passing through as I am, it's perfectly fine. And an unbeatable price.

We spent a night at Village Motel in a 2-queen bed room, which was perfect for our family. The room was spotless, and the recently renovated bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The fridge was also handy amenity. The WiFi speed was impressive, and the staff was efficient during check-in. The bed was surprisingly comfortable with pillows that don’t sink! We didn’t have issues with parking like other reviewers experienced and we came back to the hotel couple hours past sunset without any parking issues. Best of all, Village Motel was the most affordable option during peak autumn season! Its proximity to Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve made it an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Hudson Valley. However, our room's proximity to the street made for a noisy night. As we were traveling with a newborn, earplugs weren't an option. While not a deal-breaker, light sleepers and families may want to request rooms further from the street. We'd still consider returning, and with better room placement, it would be a 5-star experience! Recommended for nature lovers, families, and budget-conscious travelers!

Strange place. Looks shady and the exterior seems not well cared for but the room we had was clean cozy and recently renovated. Perfect location for us and turned out to be a very nice stay in spite of the initial impression

Easy walking distance to restaurants downtown. I was really surprised at how nicely new and renovated our room was, very clean, abd the woman at the desk was exceedingly nice. Even moved her car so we could park more closely to our room without me even asking!
